LEORA LAOR | SPECIAL EDITION

We are delighted to announce the reissuing of a special edition of Leora Laor’s iconic photograph Untitled #100 from her Wanderland series. This new and exciting initiative offers 35 new small prints. Ten percent of the proceeds for each print sale will be donated to HIAS, the oldest relief organization in the world.

Leora Laor created this photograph in Jerusalem’s Mea Shearim neighborhood- a bastion of the ultra-Orthodox community in Israel. Its protagonist is an anonymous young girl who is seen running towards something unbeknownst to the viewer beyond the picture plane.  An exuberant storyteller and keen observer of minutiae, Laor creates exceptional photographs which capture the small moments that accumulate into everyday life. In her work she explores the contemporary human condition by juxtaposing the self with the ‘other,’ the private with the public, the familiar and the unknown. As such, in her practice, Laor probes and delineates the definition of the self and its relation to the world at large.

Leora Laor’s artwork is included in many prestigious private and public collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art (NY), The Museum of Fine Arts (Houston),  The Jewish Museum (NY),The Jewish Museum (Berlin), Gemeentemuseum Den Haag (Hague), The Israel Museum (Jerusalem), The Tel Aviv Museum (Tel-Aviv), IBM Collection, and The Coca-Cola Collection.
